👉 The Early Reader Team is Now Closed
When Magic Goes Missing, the second adventure in the HoundsHouse series, is almost here — and I invited 75 readers to experience it before everyone else.
Early Readers received a free digital advance copy before the official release.
❣️ They were asked to read early, share their thoughts, and, if they’d like, help launch the next HoundsHouse adventure by leaving an honest review when the book is released.

Pre-Order Book 2 Now
HoundsHouse is back… and being the Queen of Darkness is seriously interfering with Avarie Smith’s everyday life.
Avarie is still trying to figure out how to be a twenty-something living in Orlando while also keeping the magical world from descending into chaos. Magic is everywhere, hidden in plain sight, and most people will never see it. But for the chosen few, Orlando is filled with creatures, ancient powers, and secrets hiding in some very familiar places.
And lately, something is wrong.
Magical creatures are losing their powers. One by one, the abilities that make them extraordinary are simply…disappearing. Someone—or something—is stealing Magic, and as Queen of Darkness, it’s Avarie’s job to figure out why.
Then the Trickster appears.
Feared even among magical creatures, the giant rabbit’s arrival is a warning that something much bigger is coming. Now Avarie must follow the clues through real-life Central Florida, uncover what is happening to the missing Magic, and somehow keep the balance between Light and Darkness from falling apart.
Because in Orlando, Magic is real. And this time, someone wants it for themselves.
Haven’t Read HoundsHouse Orlando Yet?
It’s not too late!
When Magic Goes Missing is a new adventure and can be enjoyed entirely on its own, but you’ll know the characters — and understand quite a bit more about Avarie’s unusual Orlando — if you’ve read Book One first.
If you’re new to HoundsHouse, there’s still time to start at the beginning. And, yep, plenty of adults have enjoyed the book in addition to kids—imagine a Harry Potter-style story set right here in Orlando!
