Fighting Hunger: Beth McKee

Singer songwriter Beth McKee has been a leader in the southern folk music scene ever since Jimmy Buffet signed her then all-women band to Margaritaville Records. Opening for Buffet allowed her to see power in community and how her art could be used for good.

Beth has created Swamp Sistas, a 501c3 dedicated to helping those in our community who might be experiencing hunger or lacking access or oppprtunity. She has raised a quarter of a million dollars for Second Harvest Food Bank.

As part of Bess Auer’s “Gourds & Monsters” video series, Beth sat down and talked about throwing a “party with a purpose” to fight hunger.
